The Muncie Community School Corporation staff at the Youth Opportunity Center pride themselves in meeting each student’s academic needs on an individual basis.

Students come to the YOC with many challenges, which often result in academic deficits. Meeting a student where he or she is gives each student the opportunity to make substantial progress. One of our primary goals is to make sure high school students earn the appropriate credits and pathway requirements to graduate on time.

Our focus for middle school students is to make substantial progress in the areas of reading and mathematics while also presenting science and social studies instruction. Each student is assessed frequently and progress is monitored to ensure adequate progress is made. As the principal, I am proud to lead a team of dedicated and uniquely talented staff to meet the needs of our students.
